Well Scripted Valentine's Day Note Card

 
Good Afternoon Stampers,

I hope you are all doing well and that you enjoyed watching the Super Bowl.  Yesterday afternoon, I had a children's Valentine's Day class and we had 12 children in attendance at the studio.  The kids had a wonderful time creating 30 Valentine's Day Cards using the Love Bots Card Set.  They behaved so well and enjoyed the time together.  After spending time with so many children, it made me miss teaching.  I love that Stampin' Up! has added these great children's kits and hope they will make this a permanent feature in their catalogs.  I can't wait for our upcoming Easter Class in which the kids will decorate 2 dozen eggs and decorate their own basket using the Eggcellent Eggs Kit.  It will be so much fun!  If you are in the area and would love to have your child attend, please call me to reserve your spot.  Our Easter Class is scheduled for Saturday, April 3, 2010 at 1:00 PM.

Today, I wanted to share this easy Valentine's Day Note Card I created using the Well Scripted and I {Heart} Hearts Stamp Set.  It is so simple, yet so dazzling as I created this beautiful border using the Scalloped Border and Corner Punch.  This is a great and easy note card to write a short message to your honey this week as we get ready for Valentine's Day.  There are many sentiments to choose from and you can create one for any occasion you need.  How about using the Whimsical Words Stamp Set from Sale-a-Bration?  The possibilities are endless.  I need to send out three cards this week, and I think I will definitely be creating a simple notecard with both of these stamp sets. This notecard can be created in 5 minutes tops and it fits pefectly into the A2 size envelope.  How about placing one of these notecards in your child's lunchbox or backpack and send them off to school letting them know how much you love them?  This notecard is perfect when you have no time to create a full card but want to still add the touch of a handmade card.  We all know how much people love those.

Manhattan Flower Wine Bottle and Candle Ensemble and More...

What can I say, "I LOVE THIS ENSEMBLE".  It is absolutely breathtaking in person. The Manhattan Flower Impressions Folder is absolutely gorgeous but then add Plum Metal Sheets and a wine bottle with candles and it is WOW!!!!

Chat Room Rub-Ons Valentine's Day Pens

Today's post is a really easy project to make.  I have a teenager at home and we know that at this point they are past the cutesy Valentine's Day cards.  Well, how about Chat Room Rub-Ons Conversation Pens?  Have you seen the new Chat Room Rub-Ons found on page 37 of the new occasions catalog?  These have some really fun sayings for teenagers and are available in Chocolate Chip and Whisper White.

When you use these pens to write, the heart lights up.  SUPER COOL FOR TEENAGEERS!  My son loved them.  Most of his friends are girls and so they all love when the holidays come because they all love the little gifts he gives them.  I know this will be a hit with the girls.  If you work at a school and need a fundraiser idea for the Valentine's Day dance, how about making these and selling them for $3.  Oh my goodness, I would have loved these pens as a teenager.  Instead of the typical Valetine's Day candy grams, how about pen grams?  The pens cost a $1 and you can get over 40 sayings out of one pack of Chat Room Rub-Ons.  How about having the cheerleaders selling these as a fundraiser?  Go attack those discount stores and stock up on these before they are all gone.  For elementary aged children rub these rub-ons on pencils.  How about adding these to the treat store?  If you are a teacher, how about giving a pack of 3 glittery red pencils with rub-ons instead of candy?  I can't tell you how cool these are.  I love them!! Important Tip

Once you have rubbed on the sayings, you must apply a thin coat of clear nail polish over the sentiment so it will not rub off with the natural oils from the hands.  Once the first coat has dried, go over it again and let it dry.  The first coat must be thin or the rub-on will smear off.  I recommend regular clear nail polish and not the 60 second clear nail polish.

Photo Canvas Frame on Easel: Pre-Metal Embossed

I have received questions about today's project and so I wanted to share with you more about it.  The metal embossed canvas frame is an actual 5" x 5" canvas frame that comes with an easel.  As you will see in this before picture, it is made using a sturdy frame and when I purchased it this is what it looked like.  I thought this would be a way to feature a beautiful picture with a different twist and dazzling it up.

Here is a side view of the frame.  This entire frame is covered both front and back with Rock Star Black Sheets with the Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder.  The picture is framed and I added some satin ribbon and some metal embossed pieces using Stampin' Up! punches and die cuts.  All the techniques used to create this piece can be found in January's Edition of Add a Little Dazzle on Metal Newsletter.  If you would like more details about suscribing to the newsletter, please read the post below.

When I started using metal sheets, I never thought I would get the response I have.  I was overwhelmed and excited by your excitement and interest in what I have to offer.  Unfortunately, I have found that there are some that have decided to share the planners and newsletters with those who have not paid for the service. A friend of mine found a thread out there in which demos were trying to figure out how to recreate my projects without having to pay for my planners.  That's not COOL.  Please know that I understand that we are all struggling because of the economy.  My family is no exception. I had to take my stamping to a different level in order to be able to grow my business and be able to contribute to our family income or I had to consider going back to teaching full-time.  I found my niche and work extremely hard at what I do.  I have had to bring on two assistants to help me and sometimes it still isn't enough to get everything done. Many times, they even take work home and are still cutting and sorting into the late hours of the night.

As a business owner, I have had to make an investment in my business in order to see its growth, but another important factor in my business is that I run it with integrity. My family, customers, people I don't know, and God are watching my actions.  I want to run my business in such a way that I can be transparent with all around me with nothing to hide.  This is a very dificult issue for me to address but is one that needs to be addressed.  Please understand that this is not based on any one incident, nor am I upset at anybody.  This issue has been going on for a while now and I have stayed quiet about it because I have prayed about it and have asked God to give me wisdom in dealing with this.  Please don't cut the bread and butter from my family.  If you are struggling that bad and need one of my planners to help grow your business, let me know and I will help you out.  Today it is you, tomorrow it is me. I {Heart} Hearts Metal Valentine's Day Card and Much More...........

Wow, I am so touched by each of your responses about the Random Acts of Kindness.  I am so encouraged to know that many of you will be doing this.  What a great impact we can each make if we reach out in our community.  We have decided that we will make our family Valentine's Day cards for children at Ronald McDonald's House.  I know this will be a great experience for the children as they will learn more about giving.  Our goal is to continue doing activities such as these with our children.  I especially love the suggestion that was made about carrying some cards in your purse and just randomly giving them out.  We are going to do that, too.  I can't wait to hear how each of you reach out in your own community and the impact you make.  Please make sure to share.

Valentine's Day Itty Bitty Boxes and 2 Winners!

Valentine's Day is a day to celebrate love.  Love of a spouse, friends, family, coworkers etc. We all have people in our lives that we love and that love us. Who can you think of?  When was the last time you let somebody know you cared by your acts of kindness?   My club members/friends demonstrated their love for my family this week. As you all know we took the children to Disney and came home on Sunday. Unfortunately, I came home sick and quickly shared it with my family.  Due to being so sick, I had to reschedule one of my clubs, but right away my club members "my friends" stepped in to show us they cared. They have shown their love to us by calling us, praying for us, helping us, and making soup for us.  I have no words to describe how much these expressions of love have meant to us.  It blesses my heart to know that we are loved; they have gone out of their way to help us even in the midst of snowy conditions we are experiencing that is making it difficult to drive.  Thank you ladies from the bottom of my heart!  I love you all!

When was the last time you did something for somebody for no special reason? Today's post is a great small gift you can make for somebody.  Can you think of somebody who can make these for? Residents at a nursing home, stranger on the street, patients in a hospital, cashier at the grocery store, the waiter at the restaurant, the guy at the gas station, the lady behind you at the grocery store?   How about making these with your Sunday School class and having them randomly find people to bless? We can touch the lives of those we don't know everyday by a Random Act of Kindness.  Imagine if 1 out of 5 people who read my blog would do this what an impact we could have on this day (Valentine's Day). Remember, this day doesn't bring joy to all.  A widow who just lost their spouse, an abused person, a homeless person, an orphan, a person who is homebound. Who can you think of blessing with one of these? Somedays these Random Acts of Kindness can make a world of difference for somebody.  Have you ever had a day you wished somebody did something special for you?

I am so glad you have enjoyed both the 1st issue of Valentines Extravaganza and this week's posts. Wait until you see what I have in store for next week.  I will be back and posting from my studio on Monday.  At this point that sounds wonderful. My legs feel like they are going to fall off.  I think I need a vacation from vacation to recover. LOL.  Have you ever felt like that or is it just me?  My kids are exhausted, too.

Today I would like to show you how to add a little dazzle with metal to your nugget tin.  This nugget tin follows the same procedure as the normal ones you make.  The only difference is that you will use White Staz-On to stamp on the word "Love You Much".  I love how easy it is to see where I am stamping plus it was much easier to carry in my luggage as the room it took up was minimal.  The lid of the box will be decorated using Metal Embossed Butterflies.  Isn't this beautiful?  The part I love the most is that with the "Well Scripted" stamp set Stampin' Up! is carrying in their mini occasions catalog, you can adapt your tin box to any occasion with the other 5 sentiments.  Choose from: Wonderful Mother, Dear Father, Happy Birthday, Happy Easter, Love Your Much, and Congratulations.  I am loving this nugget tin.  It is so easy to make. How about buying metal sheets in your favorite colors and precutting the butterflies and storing them in a small container for whenever you need them?  Very easy and a dazzling Valentine's gift for teachers, friends, coworkers etc. in no time at all.  Actually these butterflies are great for all occasions.

Questions about Metal Sheets

1. How much do the metal sheets weigh? The sheets are 40 gauge.

2.  Are the edges of the metal sheet sharp?  No, the edges are not sharp.

3.  Why kind of sanding block do you use?  I use a regular Stampin' Up! sanding block.

4. How much comes in a pack? 4 sheets (9" x 12") and the rolls come in a 12" x 36" sheet. 

5. Can you make a sample pack that you can sell us?  Yes, I can.  I just need to see how much interest there is among my readers, and I will put one together and let you know the cost.

6.  Do you ship internationally?  Yes, I do ship internationally.  Please note that when you place an international order there is no shipping cost added.  The reason is because I have to take your package to the post office to get weighed to figure out the cost.  Once I have this number, I will contact you and tell you the cost for shipping.  I ONLY ship Priority with insurance for international orders.  The average cost for shipping internationally right now is between $25-$30.  It all depends on weight and destination.  I honestly recommend getting together with friends to place a larger order to make it worth your money for shipping.

7.  Why the cost for shipping within the United States?  My goal is to deliver your metal sheets to you in the same condition in which they left my studio.  Unfortunately, I have not been able to find a least expensive way in which the sheets will not be damaged.  Sending your package in a flat rate box via Priority Mail is the best option right now. It allows us to fill it with stuffing and protect it from damage. When you see how thin the metal sheets are, you will see why this is the best method.  The huge savings in shipping comes when you place a bigger order.  Why not get an order together with a fellow demonstrator or get orders from your customers and combine it all so the cost for shipping goes down?

8.  How do I post a comment to be part of the contest?  At the end of my post, right underneath my siggy you will see where it states at what time I posted.  Keep reading and you will see the words "Comments".  It is the second to last.  Click on "Comments" and you will write your comment and follow the instructions given.

Manhattan Flower Business Card Holder

 Good Morning Stampers,

I am so glad to hear you are loving the metal projects along with the Disney Autograph books.  When I put pictures in it next week, I will give you a peek into the finished product.  My youngest son is so excited to have his own scrapbook, my oldest is excited that I made the project for him, and my daughter just loves SnowWhite.  My husband and I will have our own digital scrapbook to remember these special moments with our kids. 

Today I am sharing a sneek peek of an upcoming project that will be featured in my Add a Little Dazzle on Metal Newsletter that will be released on January 28th.  If you didn't get in during the 3 month FREE trial subscription, I will provide you with more details on signing up for this amazing newsletter filled with tip and two projects next week.  This project is amazingly beautiful and is a great item in which to carry your business cards.  Not only do you need to have dazzling projects, but you also need to have a dazzling business card holder to carry your business cards in.  You know you have an image to keep? LOL  This business card holder was made using the Plum Metal Sheets.  The color is so deep and rich.    I used the Manhattan Flower Impressions Embossing Folder for the image and I am loving it soooooooo much.   It is gorgeous beyond words.
