Vintage Vogue Stationery Sheet

I am so excited to share with you today's project which is stationery.  This stationery was created at the request of one of my club members for her club meeting this week.  Honestly, I wasn't too sure about her original request, and I tried to sway her to another project but no luck.  This is what she wanted.  I am so happy she didn't give in to me as I am very excited about how it turned out.  Another request was that it had to be 5" x 7".  I struggled even more with it as we don't have envelopes that size, but again she insisted and told me to learn how to make envelopes. Thank you Sandra for challenging me. I created stationery she can now use for writing to the missionaries and I learned how to make envelopes in any size and with any paper.  They are so easy to make and add an even more personalized finish to your stationery.  That is tomorrow's post, so you definitely don't want to miss it.  You will learn how to make envelopes for yesterday's card and today's stationery.  I am so excited!  You will even learn how to make your own glue for the envelopes.  Yeah!

Vintage Vogue Metal Embossed Card, Winner, and More....

I am so excited to share today's card with you. This card was inspired by Heather Summer's creation using the gorgeous Vintage Vogue Stamp Set. I used the same layout, changed the color to Plum, used Metal Sheets, and the Finial Press Textured Impressions Folder. I loved this card the minute I saw it, but I wanted to change the color, incorporate metal sheets, and an Impressions Folder. I love the result! This card is stunning and so elegant. Wait until you see the matching handmade envelope with the gorgeous one-of-a-kind envelope lining.  You are going to want to line all your envelopes this way!

This week I have two clubs and a workshop scheduled.  They will be making this stamped and metal embossed card along with a matching envelope.  I have also created a matching 5" x 7" stationery letterhead.  Wait until you see it!  It is dazzling! Birthday in a Box and More....

I am so excited to share with you today's project "Birthday in a Box".  The original creator of this project is Melissa Stout.  I loved her project and took it from there and made some changes to create my own twist.  This project features the Happy B-day Simply Scrappin Kit.  I love the Simply Scrappin' Kits because they can be used to create projects beyond scrapbooking. This is a perfect example of how you can create cards quickly with a lot of dazzle.  This Birthday in a Box project includes 10 birthday cards, 10 matching embossed envelopes, a Forget-Me-Not-Keeper, and 12 monthly divider cards. All cards are dry embossed and embellished with clear rhinestones. I have also used a birthday greeting stamp set for all the cards.

Wow! It was a busy weekend.  I had two Perfect Details Collage Frame classes on Saturday and have another one scheduled for this weekend.  The ladies who attended did an amazing job.  The thing I loved most was how different everybody's frame was.  We had one lady make a frame for her godson who is a professional boxer.  I loved the pictures she used and how beautiful the pictures looked in the frame.  The greatest thing about it is that it looked masculine as she used the Argyle Texturz Plate.  Among those who attended we had wedding frames, graduation frames, family portrait frames, family heirloom frames, and the most unique one was a request from my hairdresser for a frame for her shop so she could feature her Marilyn Monroe pictures.  Everybody had a different idea in mind but they all looked so dazzling.  Today, I will share with you three of the frames created in the class.

The first frame was created by Theresa.  I have to be honest with you at first I wasn't fond of the Periwinkle Metal Sheet in her frame but when I saw the finished product I was in awe.  This is truly beautiful and so elegant in person.  Wow!  Makes me want to make another one for my wedding pictures.  One lady loved her frame so much that she decided she would come back and create another one this weekend to give her sister as a wedding gift.  I can honestly say this is an amazing and beautiful gift for a new couple to showcase in their new home.  I love it!

The color combination in this frame is: Rock Star Black, Periwinkle, and Aluminum.  Theresa used the back side of one of the colored metal sheets to create the Aluminum side.  This beautiful piece was created using Stampin' Up! Perfect Details Texturz Plate.  This is definitely perfect for a gift or for your own home.

The next featured frame was an interesting request from my hairdresser Monica.  I went to get my haircut on Friday and I took the frame to her shop and she fell in love with it.  Her color combination request came from a deodorant bottle.  Yeah, that's right a deodorant bottle.  She asked for a frame with Peacock, Barn Red, and Rock Star Black.  I honestly didn't know how this would look but I think it looks stunning!  The colors are so rich and really pops out beautifully in her shop.  The funny thing is that I asked her for pictures of her family and she said she was going to display pictures of Marilyn Monroe in her frame.  I can't wait to see it with the pictures.  For now, the frame you see is without pictures in it, but it is.  It is very modern looking! We used the Perfect Details Texturz Plate for her frame.  Can you think of somebody who would love this modern looking metal embossed frame in their home.  Another thing that came to mind is that if the person doesn't want to add pictures they can add more metal and just make it an interesting piece of art to add to their decor.  This is a funky and fresh frame.  I love this too!

The last frame I will show you for today was one made by Judy.  Her daughter is graduating from high school this year and she is in the midst of the preparations for her graduation party.  Here in Taos graduations are a big social affair and parents go all out.  It is the thing to do during the summer.  There are weekends where people go to parties for two days straight all day long and just go from one party to another.  Parents rent out halls 1 year in advance just to make sure they can get the date they want. We are working on her graduation party invitations.  By the way, there are 250 invitations to make for her daughter's party.  I am working on her final graduation card this week.  The pressure is on to create a dazzling graduation invitation for the graduate.  I will share the invitation with you when it is done and it receives final approval.

Quick Update!

New Metal Colors, Winner, and More to Come...

I am so excited to share with you that tomorrow I will be releasing 5 new Metal Colors in my metal store.  They are absolutely stunning and so vibrant.  I love them all but I think my 2 favorite so far are the new Hot Pink Diamond and Peacock.  I am not a pink kind of person, but I have to be honest with you this is absolutely gorgeous.  These colors are beautiful, summery (is that a word), and shimmery.  What do you think?

Wedding Pillow Box Favor,Winners, New Contest, and More...

It has been a very emotional and exhausting week.  It was a very emotional funeral. My husband and I sat there in tears as we could remember our own experience 6 1/2 years ago.  Although some people say time helps you forget, the truth is that when you bury your own flesh and blood you never forget. You take it one day at a time and thank God for the peace that only HE can give.  I received numerous emails and I want to thank each of you for your kind words. I have been touched by your emails about personal experiences each of you have had  in losing your own child or somebody close to you who has lost a child.  I wish nobody had to ever go through this experience.  From the bottom of my heart, I am sorry to all who have experienced this pain.   Thank your kind words and caring hearts. You are wonderful! I love you all!

Today's post is different.  I have been seeing a lot of requests out there for wedding favor and gift ideas.  This pillow box is a one-of-a-kind creation of mine which I shared a year ago but thought with the wedding season coming up it was a good project to pull out again.  This pillowbox is created using a 5" x 7" matte finish photo and is inexpensive and unique.  You must use a 5" x 7" picture in the vertical position. For the sake of cost, I recommend you send your pictures to Costco or Sam's Club.  This is the least expensive option.  Now, this idea is also good for graduations.  Graduations are coming up and nothing is better than a unique party favor that nobody else would have.  Also great for a baby's first birthday, comunion, bridal shower, baptism.  This favor is so easy to make and is beautiful.  If you are going to put candy in it, I would suggest putting it inside a little bag from Stampin' Up! as that will protect it from any chemicals that might have been used when printing the pictures.  Also, matte finish is better because glossy pictures pick up finger prints very easily.

I have provided a tutorial for this pillow box favor and hope you enjoy it.  There is a great tip at the end of the picture tutorial that will allow you to mass produce these without figuring out how to place the picture every time you run it through the Big Shot.  Enjoy!

Teeny Tiny Wishes Sympathy Card and More...

Good Morning Stampers!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  I have to share with you that this wasn't the best weekend for me.  I shared with you all a bib card I made on Friday.  Well, I made that card for a lady from our church who had her little baby boy premature weighing 1 lb. 3ozs.  My husband and I decided that we needed to go visit her and her husband at the hospital on Friday, so we packed the kids and left to Albuquerque.  Before we arrived at the hospital we were informed that the baby had just passed away 20 minutes ago. This was the hardest thing in the world for us but we knew God had ordained for us to be there as we understood this pain too well. 

On September 13, 2003, my husband and I lost our daughter Jacqueline two days after she was born.  She weighed in at 1 lb. 2 ozs. and fought for her life so hard but just didn't make it.  The pain that a parent experiences in losing a child is horrible.  You wonder why, what did you do wrong?  Nothing makes sense at that moment and you wish you could die just to make the pain go away.  As we walked into the bereavement room at the hospital that evening my heart broke for this family.  I hugged her and cried like if it were my child.  I held her precious baby boy in my arms and it hurt so much.  He was so tiny but so perfect!  It has been a very emotional weekend for us and now we prepare to bury this child today.  Yesterday, I made this card for her.  I wanted something soft and serene yet simple.  I have never made a sympathy card.  I was very happy with this card.  Her cousin came over last night and we made her a matching shadowbox to display at the funeral home. Her cousin told me she cried the minute she saw the shadowbox frame with his picture and his baby hat from the hospital.  I just finished a big picture frame for her for this morning.  It has pictures of him along with metal embossed sheets.  It is absolutely beautiful and I pray she will love it.  It is a dreary and snowy day here in Northern New Mexico.  Please pray for this family today and keep us in prayer as we are with them today.  There are no words to comfort this family and all we can do is be there to cry with them and share in their pain.
