Clean Eating: How to Make Adobo Seasoning

Clean Eating: How to Make Adobo Seasoning.  Adobo is an essential seasoning in Spanish Caribbean and Latin American kitchens. It is an all-purpose seasoning that imparts a delicious flavor and is used on meats, chicken, and fish.  Growing up this was our magic spice blend used for everything.  As I changed to a Clean Eating lifestyle, I didn’t want to give it up so after much research and trial and error in the kitchen I have come up with my homemade version of Adobo Seasoning.

Read the Labels

Nowadays, many of us rely on pre-packaged seasoning mixes to give flavor to our dishes.  Unfortunately, along with the herbs and spices found in these mixes are many potentially harmful ingredients.  Most seasoning blends on the market, contain additives, anti-caking agents, and  MSG.   These ingredients may lead to inflammation, migraines, numbness, chest pain, obesity, and/or cell damage to name a few.

Since changing to a Clean Eating Lifestyle, we have eliminated all pre-packaged seasoning mixes and have created our own without any harmful ingredients. The taste is amazing and we don’t have to worry about what is in it because we make it from scratch.

It is important to read labels so we can make informed decisions about what we put in our bodies.  You’ll be surprised how many harmful ingredients are in pre-packaged foods and seasonings. My rule is if I can’t pronounce it or know what it is, I would rather not have it in my food.

ADOBO SEASONING

Homemade Adobo Seasoning

There is nothing like the amazing taste of Adobo Seasoning. It is the “salt and pepper” of hispanic homes.  You can add this to chicken, meat, pork, vegetables, and much more. I use it for pretty much everything we cook in our home and it adds a delicious taste.

You will notice that I use this seasoning in all my clean eating recipes that require salt and pepper.  The taste is amazing and once you start using it you will become hooked.  It isn’t spicy so it can be used in foods children eat.

I will be sharing many more traditional Hispanic Recipes I grew up eating.  You are in for a treat and I am confident you will love the recipes as you take your Clean Eating to a different taste bud level.
