Are You Waiting for the Storm to Pass?

Are You Waiting for the Storm to Pass? There are seasons in our lives where it seems like all there is are storms.  It can be quite overwhelming and as human beings the tendency is to hide away until it goes away.  I am guilty of that and lately I feel like God is speaking to me and telling me, “You can’t stop living life while this storm passes. You have to keep living life and learn how to dance in the rain.” Then, Dazzling Diva Design Team Member shared this card with the team and it was a reminder of what I felt God has been speaking into my life.

This week we have a Mood Board in Dazzling Diva Challenge #66.  I love this board because there are different images to choose from and you can take whatever you like from it to create a card.  When, Dazzling Diva Design Team Member Lee-Anne Cross posted this picture for the team, I fell in love with the card.  There is so much going on here but then with the sentiment playing center stage it is AWESOME.

What’s even more amazing to me how God can speak to us so gently in different ways. Have you ever been facing something in your life and you hear a song, see a picture, read a quote, or something to encourage you?  God knew I needed this quote this week because it has been an ongoing message He has been sending my way this week.  What an amazing God we serve that loves us so much!

Today, Lee-Anne is going to share with us a tutorial and show us just how she made this amazing card using Add a Little Dazzle Craft Metal Sheets. Enjoy!

Step 1:  Cut a card base to a finished size of 4 1/4″ x  5 1/2″. Cut the frame from the same color card stock.
step 1

Step 2: Stamp the raindrop images on the card front with Watering Can Archival Ink. Then, color them in with Broken China Distress Marker and soften it out by going over it with a paint brush and water.step 2

Step 3: Die cut clouds, lightning bolts, and sequins from Add a Little Dazzle Craft Metal Sheets.  Die cut additional sequins in vellum.
step 3

Step 4: Stamp the sentiment with Black Archival Ink.
step 4

Step 5: Cut out the front of the shaker card from a transparency sheet and adhere it to the back of the frame with Red Liner Adhesive Tape.  Add foam adhesive to the back of the frame.
step 5

Step 6: Place a small amount of Temporary Adhesive on the back of the card and attach it to a surface. This will keep it from popping up.  Then, place the sequins in the center of the card front.
step 6

Step 7: Place the shaker frame on top of the card base and remove your temporary adhesive. Here’s a close up of the sequins in the shaker card.
step 7

Step 8. Attach the clouds and lightning bolts with Glossy Accents to the card front.
