Life here has been hectic.  My baby is now 3 weeks old and cries if mommy doesn't carry her.  I finally found the solution.  I purchased one of those baby carriers you attach to yourself and VOILA it worked.  As soon as I put her in it, she falls asleep and is a happy baby.  I love it!  The great thing is that I can actually work the business and around the house. Welcome to the March 2010 SU Stars Blog Hop Tour!  We are so glad you joined us this month as our theme is Spring and Ocassions.  I am excited to be part of this tour and know you will find lots of inspiration for all your papercrafting needs.  You probably just arrived at my blog from Raissa Spatola's Blog.  Her work is beautiful and showcases Stampin' Up! product so well.

 
Today I have decided to showcase the "Beautiful Butterflies Die Cut" that is available in our main catalog.  After tossing back and forth with numerous ideas I decided to make a non-spring color project with the spring theme coming from the "Beautiful Butterflies Die Cut". I thought about it and finally decided I wanted to create "Beautiful Butterflies Metal Embossed Shadowbox Frames" in colors that would match my home decor.  The finishing touch to these "dazzling frames" was the "faith, hope, love", and "life" Decor Elements. 

 
I will start by sharing that I used Barn Red, Dijon, Spiced Rum, Poison Ivy Metal Sheets, and Bronzed God Metal Sheets to create this ensemble.  I used the Big Shot, the Beautiful Butterflies Die, and my Vintage Impressions Embossing Folder. I also added some Pearl Jewels for a more "dazzling effect".  Once I placed this piece in an 8" x 8" shadowbox, I added the words using the Decor Elements set. This ensemble is elegant, yet contemporary and looks dazzling in my studio bathroom.

Merry Christmas from Our Family, Christmas Give-a-Way, and a Special Gift!

Good Morning Stampers!

Has your life been hectic with last minute holiday preparations. I am exhausted beyond belief!  Where did the time go?  It flew by and I can't believe we are now 2 days away from Christmas and a week away from a New Year. I am sure we are all frazzled at this point and just want Christmas to come.  The important thing to remember is that we enjoy the time with family and friends as we celebrate the birth of Our Saviour Jesus Christ.

Today, I would like to introduce you to my entire family.  They are my support system with the family business.  Each of us works in the business in some way.  Whether it be my husband delivering orders, mailing out boxes of Metal Sheets, making bank deposits, the kids helping set out supplies for classes,  my daughter eating the chocolate intended for the customers, or all of us cleaning up after classes, and definitely everybody putting up with a not so perfect clean house some days.  All of us truly work the business and we want to take this opportunity to thank you for your business and support throughout this past year.  None of this would be possible without you and we truly want to thank you for trusting us.  We pray that each of you have a very Merry Christmas and a new year filled with health, prosperity, and blessings from above.

12 Weeks of Christmas DVD!

I can't believe Christmas is right around the corner.  Where did the time go?  It seems like when I was a child it took forever to come and now it goes by too quickly.  I wish I could slow down the clock and enjoy more time like a child during this holiday season.  Today I am sharing a mini version of a project I created for my 12 Weeks of Christmas.  This project is so easy to make and is a great last minute gift.  I made this smaller version for my children's teachers.  There are 10 of them so I have to keep it simple.  These jars are under $5 each and the Jingle All the Way Decor Element is the small one that costs $3.50 each.  You can't beat that.  Then all you do is pop a bag of popcorn in the microwave, melt some colored chocolate wafers, drizzle on the popcorn, let it set, and you are done.  How is that?  I am also going to give these to my two neighbors along with a dazzling card.

Dazzling Decor Elements Gift!

Good Morning Stampers!

Today I am posting my smaller version of a dazzling project I found on the internet.  This project was presented at a Stampin' Up! event.  When I saw it, I loved it because of its simplicity yet elegant and dazzling effect.  

I had some shadowbox frames I bought at Dollar General a year ago.  The glass had words on it and I carefully scraped it off with my hobby blade knife.  I pulled out Urban Oasis Designer Series Paper, that is retiring, and cut out a piece to fit the frame. I took the Big Shot and cut out a butterfly out of black cardstock and added a piece of sticky strip in the middle of the body and flipped its wings upwards.  After I closed the frame, I took a Decor Elements and applied it to the outside of the glass.  It was so easy to make and it is beautiful.

I will be giving this to a friend  who is going through a rough time right now.  It is so difficult to keep our faith when we are faced with difficulties in life.  We have to realize that there are some things we can't control and we have to trust and have faith in God that He is working everything out for us.  I hope this small gift will encourage her and remind her not to lose her faith.  God will provide in the midst of it all.  Sometimes it doesn't happen when we want it to happen but it will happen.  I believe that if God were to answer our prayers all the time or immediately then what need would there be for us to trust Him.  Sometimes His delayed answer is to help us grow and mature. I want to encourage each of you that whatever you are facing today that you don't lose your faith.  Things will get better!

Thanks for sticking with me today and reading two posts.  Today I am featuring one of the projects we will be making in my monthly club next week.  I have had these Decor Elements Chocolate Chip Flowers for the longest time and haven't known what to do with them until this week. 

This is a perfect and very inexpensive gift to make.  I bought this mug from the $1 store.  I love the color combination and I was so excited to find that this matches Sage Shadow and Chocolate Chip that Stampin' Up! carries.  This took me an easy 5 minutes to make and I love the touch this simple Decor Elements flower added to the mug.  I also used a stamp set I bought a long time ago and never used "Think Happy Thoughts".  Oh my goodness!! What was I thinking never using this stamp set.  I love it!!! It is a versatile stamp set as it has "Happy Birthday", "Happy Thoughts", "Thanks so Much", and "Friendship".  This set is great for tags and cards.  I am so happy it isn't retiring because I love it!!!  You can easily recreate this project with the Decor Elements of your choice.
