Teeny Tiny Wishes Sympathy Card and More...

Good Morning Stampers!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  I have to share with you that this wasn't the best weekend for me.  I shared with you all a bib card I made on Friday.  Well, I made that card for a lady from our church who had her little baby boy premature weighing 1 lb. 3ozs.  My husband and I decided that we needed to go visit her and her husband at the hospital on Friday, so we packed the kids and left to Albuquerque.  Before we arrived at the hospital we were informed that the baby had just passed away 20 minutes ago. This was the hardest thing in the world for us but we knew God had ordained for us to be there as we understood this pain too well. 

On September 13, 2003, my husband and I lost our daughter Jacqueline two days after she was born.  She weighed in at 1 lb. 2 ozs. and fought for her life so hard but just didn't make it.  The pain that a parent experiences in losing a child is horrible.  You wonder why, what did you do wrong?  Nothing makes sense at that moment and you wish you could die just to make the pain go away.  As we walked into the bereavement room at the hospital that evening my heart broke for this family.  I hugged her and cried like if it were my child.  I held her precious baby boy in my arms and it hurt so much.  He was so tiny but so perfect!  It has been a very emotional weekend for us and now we prepare to bury this child today.  Yesterday, I made this card for her.  I wanted something soft and serene yet simple.  I have never made a sympathy card.  I was very happy with this card.  Her cousin came over last night and we made her a matching shadowbox to display at the funeral home. Her cousin told me she cried the minute she saw the shadowbox frame with his picture and his baby hat from the hospital.  I just finished a big picture frame for her for this morning.  It has pictures of him along with metal embossed sheets.  It is absolutely beautiful and I pray she will love it.  It is a dreary and snowy day here in Northern New Mexico.  Please pray for this family today and keep us in prayer as we are with them today.  There are no words to comfort this family and all we can do is be there to cry with them and share in their pain.

Pawsitively Prints Baby Boy Bib Card, Easter Treats Class Planner, and More....

I hope your week has been blessed and that you are ready for the weekend.  Today I am sharing with you a  dazzling baby bib card.  Some months ago I posted a baby girl bib card and I received numerous emails for the directions on how to create this card.  I decided to create a baby boy bib card using the Pawsitively Prints Designer Series Paper.  I absolutely love the colors in this card.  This card is so easy to make and is sure to be a hit with all who receive it.  You can also stamp "Thank You" and give a pack to the mom to use as thank you cards.  Another suggestion is to use them as a baby shower invitation.  This would also make a super cute invitation for a baby boy's 1st birthday party.  Next week I will share with you a super cute party favor that you can create in minutes for a boy's first birthday party.  It is very unique and is sure to be a hit with all guests as this will be a one-of-a-kind party favor.

Hello Again Baby Card and More......

Today I am sharing a card my club members made this summer.  My hostess was having a little girl and wanted to create a dazzling girly card that had butterflies.  I had seen many baby bib cards out there and then came across Debbie Olson's creation and I loved the idea of the button on the left hand side and a bow on the right side.  I wanted to keep the card girly but not frilly plus we only had one pregnant person in our club so it had to be something she could use as a Baby Shower Invitation and those of us who didn't need a baby shower invite could use as a Baby Shower Card.  Don't you love it?  I think it is dazzling!!

This card was easily created using the Big Shot.  It is so easy to make and can be easily reproduced.  Don't you just love the pink polka dot paper?  In case you missed it, it is from the Tea Party DSP.  I never noticed this darling paper.  This Pretty in Pink is so cute and with matching tafetta ribbon and button I am set to go.  This package also includes So Saffron Polka Dot Paper so if you don't know the gender or want to mass produce a bunch for when you need them then this is the way to go.

Oh yeah, I also have a family to take care of and the kids are off from school on Monday.  LOL.  We are actually going to work on making our Christmas ornaments.  As an alternative to Halloween, we put up our Christmas tree on October 31st so we have to get to work quickly because we are running out of time.  Our goal this year is to fill our tree with homemade ornaments.  The kids love it! Wait until you see these ornaments.  They are so dazzling!!!  Ooooh, oooh.  Almost forgot to tell you I am also working on a drop dead dazzling blanket for my daughter for Christmas.  I am using the Big Shot to make it.  I even got my fleece on sale yesterday for under $10.  That includes the actual 2 yard blanket along with the additional piece of fleece for the pieces I have to cut out.  Here we go!! Another dazzling gift for under $10. 

So what do you think of my 12 Weeks of Christmas?  I am loving it!! Mini Scrapbook and Winner!

Thank you for visiting me today.  I am so excited to share with you today's project.  I created this project for my club which met this past Thursday.  I made one of these for my husband for Father's Day but with completely different designer series paper.  I loved the way it came out and how easy it was to put together so I created this one for my club members. 

This month's hostess is pregnant so I decided to do a project that could showcase her newborn's pictures.  I chose this color scheme because she doesn't know if she is having a boy or girl, so I thought this would be perfect.  The other feature I loved about this mini scrapbook is that we added enough pages so that the mother-to-be could place a picture for each month of the baby's first year of life.  Everybody loved it and added their own touch.  I had lots of buttons, so I thought this would be a perfect way to use them up and used the faux stitch technique.  Love it!

You will also notice that I cut out the top note die cut twice once in Riding Hood Red Cardstock and then in Sweet Slumber Designer Series Paper.  Then, I took the designer series paper and cut out the outer scored layer and adhered it so that you have the dazzling outline of the cardstock.  I also wanted to add a nice finished look to the mini scrapbook so I added a 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" piece of Riding Hood Red cardstock for matting.  This is perfect for standard wallet size pictures that measure 2 1/4" x 3 1/4".  I love it!!!

You can add as many pictures as you like by adding more pages.  This is a perfect memento gift of your special celebration.  Just put it together and send it off to your loved ones. How about one of a summer cookout or pool party with friends?  Make one for each guest and have them take it home and place their own pictures in it.  What do you think?  I love it!

Edible Dump Truck!

I am so excited to share today's project with you.  I love it! Recently, I went to Target and was looking through the summer toy department and was thinking of what I could do with a mini version of the summer toys.  I found different items but this little truck won.  When I saw this trucks I thought of summer.  What little boy doesn't love to go out in the summer and fill a truck with dirt and rocks?  I loved the colors on this truck and knew I wanted to make it into a cute party favor.  

It finally came to me to make some chocolate pudding with cool whip.  So I made the chocolate pudding as instructed on the box and mixed in some Cool Whip (add to taste).  Then, I took  crushed Oreos and mixed them in. That's it!! It is so yummy!!

 Before putting it together, I placed an Oreo cookie onto the bed of the truck to create an anchor for the skewer.  Then I placed the pudding mixture onto the truck and took crushed oreos and heavily sprinkled them on top.  Isn't this so cute!!!  I put it in the refrigerator overnight to let it set.  That was it!!

Now I had to incorporate stamping into my project so I used the "Say It With Scallops" stamp set that is retiring at the end of this month.  Can you believe this is the first time I have used it?  ughh!!!  I created this cute topper and attached it to a skewer and cut it down.  I used a skewer as I thought it would hold better in the pudding mixture. I also used sticky strip to join the two pieces of the topper to prevent them from separating.  After all pieces were punched out and assembled, I tied a piece of black gingham ribbon around the skewer and I was done.  How easy is that?  Imagine creating these for a boy's next summer birthday party.  What child wouldn't love to take this little truck home after the party?  How about a baby boy truck baby shower?  Everybody will be oohing and aahing!  By the way, you can use the sugar free/fat free pudding mix with skim milk and light cool whip. I promise you it tastes great without giving the children and adults all that sugar.
