I want to thank you all for your kind words and emails about resting. I did get to rest and we also spend time as a family this weekend. We needed it. We went to see the hot air balloons launch on Saturday morning. It was beautiful! It is a yearly event here in New Mexico and it was amazing. Afterwards, we spend some family time with the kids at the acquarium and botanical gardens. It was a wonderful day. On Sunday morning, we were going to be part of the chase crew team but the weather wasn't cooperating so the hot air balloons didn't launch. We were really looking forward to it as the exchange was a FREE hot air balloon ride for a family of five. In case you are wondering, it costs $1500.00 for a family of five to ride. Yikes! As I was getting ready to send out planners on Sunday night, it started snowing and the satellite dish on top of my house wasn't cooperating, so we had no internet access until the morning. We are supposed to get some snow tonight! I am caught up with all planners. Everybody has now received their planner. If you order a planner, you will get it within 1 day.
Remember the box I shared with you on Friday? Well, look at the beautiful gift it is holding. I found the idea for using reinkers and fine glitter to create a beautiful ornament on Splitcoast Stampers. I used Taken with Teal Ink Refill and the silver fine glitter. To create this ornament, you place 50 drops of reinker into the hole of the ornament. Afterwards, you twirl it on its side until the entire ornament is covered. Don't shake it. You need a steady and even coverage. Then, place 2 teaspoons of silver fine glitter, cover with metal cap, and shake. You need to shake it alot until you see the entire ornament is covered. I finished off the ornament with Icicles Rubons from the Holiday Mini Catalog to create a dazzling look. It is absolutely gorgeous in person.
I needed a beautiful box in which to put the ornament and I found this great idea from Kelly65 on Splitcoast Stampers. I changed the dimensions of the window sheet cover and used different designer series paper and added some designer brads, rhinestone brads, white tafetta ribbon, and irridescent filler.
What do you think? This is gorgeous and these ornaments are so inexpensive. These dazzling ornaments are made with the clear ornaments you buy at your local store during the holidays. The cost is 12 ornaments for $3.99. Very inexpensive and you can create a dazzling gift for under $5. If you would like to create these ornaments and box here are the supplies you will need. If you are interested in a mini tutorial for this ornament and box please let me know. If there is enough interest, I will have the Mini Tutorial next week.

Monica, these are absolutely gorgeous! I was going to do glittered ornaments for a Giftables Class and I see that adding rubons really makes them dazzling and your box is to die for! I'd love a tutorial on how you made the box, especially the window sheet cover.

These are just gorgeous and I love them! I have tried using reinkers in the past (with ornaments) and the results have not been that great. I'd love a tutorial for both the ornaments and boxes.

Monica, I love this ornament and box that goes along with it. Wow, my gift giving problems are solved! I would like to know what size ornament ball you used. Can any color reinker be used, or do some work better than others? I would really be interested in seeing a tutorial on this, if you have the time. I am getting some of those rub-ons this week with my order so that I am prepared. How many sets should I get, how many balls can you make with one set? Please do tell. Thanks for all of the info that you can give to us.
