Summer Fun Mini Scrapbook!

Good Morning Stampers!

I am so excited to share this project with you today.  I wanted to create a mini scrapbook to highlight a summer get together with friends and family.  My idea behind this project was in creating a perfect gift for your guests at your summer cookout. How perfect would it be to give each of your guests a mini scrapbook to take home ready to fill with pictures? How about printing them out during the party and giving one to each family as they leave filled with pictures of a great summer day.  I love the bold and bright colors.  The colors are refreshing and remind me of a beautiful  summer day.

I used the "On Your Birthday" stamp set and colored in the words with a Real Red, Bashful Blue, Yo Yo Yellow, and Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Marker.  I didn't color in the Happy Birthday part of the stamp so it made it perfect for this mini scrapbook.  I mounted the matted stamped piece with dimensionals and used a metal tag and cut out a piece of matching designer series paper with a 1 1/4" circle punch to fill in the circle.  I think the cover is dazzling and the flower adds a little touch of summer.

For the covers, I used the thin pieces of cardboard that come in the Decor Elements Package.  This helps create a sturdier front and back cover.  I cut out the cardboard and designer series paper using the Top Note Die Cut. Then, I adhered the designer series paper to the cut out cardboard and distressed the edges so that you can't see the cardboard on the sides.

I added 4 double sided pages to the inside of my mini scrapbook and used coordinating cardstock and designer series paper.  The orange color in this designer series paper is Pumpkin Pie.  I didn't like it for this album as it seemed too dark so I changed it to Tangerine Tango.  The Tangerine Tango cardstock gave it the brightness and summer feel I wanted to create.  I wanted the focus of this mini scrapbook to be the pictures, so I kept the layout simple and just added a button with faux threading to the corner of the mat for the wallet sized pictures.

This is definitely a perfect mini scrapbook for any summer occasion you choose such as a day at the beach, zoo, park, pool, lake etc.  You choose the activity and fill it with dazzling pictures that you can show to all your friends in this mini scrapbook.

This mini scrapbook will hold 10 wallet-sized pictures and all papers coordinate.  This is one of the things I love about Stampin' Up! products.  I never have to worry about something not matching.  Check out the buttons.  I have had these forever and now I found a way to use them all up and they match my paper.  How dazzling is that?

Mini Scrapbook and Winner!

Thank you for visiting me today.  I am so excited to share with you today's project.  I created this project for my club which met this past Thursday.  I made one of these for my husband for Father's Day but with completely different designer series paper.  I loved the way it came out and how easy it was to put together so I created this one for my club members. 

This month's hostess is pregnant so I decided to do a project that could showcase her newborn's pictures.  I chose this color scheme because she doesn't know if she is having a boy or girl, so I thought this would be perfect.  The other feature I loved about this mini scrapbook is that we added enough pages so that the mother-to-be could place a picture for each month of the baby's first year of life.  Everybody loved it and added their own touch.  I had lots of buttons, so I thought this would be a perfect way to use them up and used the faux stitch technique.  Love it!

You will also notice that I cut out the top note die cut twice once in Riding Hood Red Cardstock and then in Sweet Slumber Designer Series Paper.  Then, I took the designer series paper and cut out the outer scored layer and adhered it so that you have the dazzling outline of the cardstock.  I also wanted to add a nice finished look to the mini scrapbook so I added a 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" piece of Riding Hood Red cardstock for matting.  This is perfect for standard wallet size pictures that measure 2 1/4" x 3 1/4".  I love it!!!

You can add as many pictures as you like by adding more pages.  This is a perfect memento gift of your special celebration.  Just put it together and send it off to your loved ones. How about one of a summer cookout or pool party with friends?  Make one for each guest and have them take it home and place their own pictures in it.  What do you think?  I love it!

Dazzling Decor Elements Gift!

Good Morning Stampers!

Today I am posting my smaller version of a dazzling project I found on the internet.  This project was presented at a Stampin' Up! event.  When I saw it, I loved it because of its simplicity yet elegant and dazzling effect.  

I had some shadowbox frames I bought at Dollar General a year ago.  The glass had words on it and I carefully scraped it off with my hobby blade knife.  I pulled out Urban Oasis Designer Series Paper, that is retiring, and cut out a piece to fit the frame. I took the Big Shot and cut out a butterfly out of black cardstock and added a piece of sticky strip in the middle of the body and flipped its wings upwards.  After I closed the frame, I took a Decor Elements and applied it to the outside of the glass.  It was so easy to make and it is beautiful.

I will be giving this to a friend  who is going through a rough time right now.  It is so difficult to keep our faith when we are faced with difficulties in life.  We have to realize that there are some things we can't control and we have to trust and have faith in God that He is working everything out for us.  I hope this small gift will encourage her and remind her not to lose her faith.  God will provide in the midst of it all.  Sometimes it doesn't happen when we want it to happen but it will happen.  I believe that if God were to answer our prayers all the time or immediately then what need would there be for us to trust Him.  Sometimes His delayed answer is to help us grow and mature. I want to encourage each of you that whatever you are facing today that you don't lose your faith.  Things will get better!

I made this bag to put my husband's gift from our daughter.  He loved it!!  I also used the retiring So Many Scallops Stamp Set.  I also added a button and some retiring Riding Hood Red Ribbon to give it a little dazzle.  When making these gift bags, I recommend measuring your bags and taking a 1/4" off the designer series paper.  Also, you must use Sticky Strip to attach the designer series paper.  This is the only way to ensure it will not come off the bag.  I love it!! Father's Day Card and Box in One and Contest!

I am so excited to share this project with you today.  I was searching through the internet and found a wonderful tutorial written by Jackie Topa for the Father's Day Trio Suit Card.  I loved the card but I wanted to do something a little different and so this creation came to life.  For Father's Day I had decided I wanted to make my husband a card and box for his gift.  I started thinking about it and I came up with this great idea of taking the card and making it into a box too.  I made the card and then I created a box and a sleeve for it.  Afterwards, I attached the card to the front of the box.  I love it!! Now I have a card and box all in one.  It is perfect for placing your Father's Day gift inside and the top where the card opens is perfect for your Father's Day message.  You can also place a velcro on the inside flap so it will stay closed.  This box is also perfect for pictures.  Just make an accordion and attach pictures.  Whatta ya think?  I think it is absolutely dazzling!!

Here is a picture of what the box will look like when open.  I think the shredded paper inside adds a nice contrast when the box is open.  So what are you giving your Father or husband for Father's Day?  Watch, tie, socks, cologne, tickets to an event? These are great items that will fit in this dazzling card and box in one.

I was so excited about this card and box in one and knew you would be too, soooooooooo I created a tutorial for it.  Again, I was inspired to this tutorial by the tutorial I found written by Jackie Topa for the Father's Day Trio Suit Card.  I simply re-wrote the tutorial in my own words and took pictures.  I also added additional steps in order to create the project I had in mind.  The creation and dimensions of the box is my original creation and all the instructions for creating the box are also included in this dazzling tutorial.  If you would like this FREE tutorial, please CLICK HERE.

Two Posts Today: Best Birthday Ever and Decor Elements

Good Morning Stampers!

Hope you are all having a wonderful day!  I want to share with you pictures of my birthday yesterday.  I had a wonderful day with my wonderful husband and 3 children.  We went out for dinner, the movies, and came home with a wonderful family.  My family sure knew how to make me feel special.  They blessed me with spending time with them, made me beautiful cards, and gave me wonderful gifts.  I have no words to express what each of their beautiful creations and gifts meant to me.  I will forever treasure each one.  I am truly blessed by each one of them.  

I will start by showing you Kevin's creation.  For his card he used the new die cut by Stampin' Up!  I love this die cut and look forward to playing and creating with it.  Kevin was able to figure out how to use it and made me this dazzling card.  I hope you enjoy it!  He was very excited to make this card for me as he did it all by himself.  I think he did a dazzling job and we will enjoy using the gift card he gave me to go out to dinner with the family.

Next, I will show you Matthew and Isabella's cards.  As little as my two youngest are they have learned how to use the Big Shot and stamp sets.  They love being in the studio with me.  Kevin helped Matthew use the Big Shot to create his card.  Matthew loves to crank the Big Shot so I know he had lots of fun.  Then Kevin helped Matthew use the circle cutter to create the two inner circles.  I love the personalized card of Mommy and Matthew.  You should have seen Matthew's face waiting to see if I was going to like his card.  I loved it and wanted to cry!!

My sweet Isabella made me the Pink Passion birthday card.  Dad said it wasn't easy to get her to stay still long enough to trace her hand but it's perfect just the way it is.  I will be able to look back years from now and remember how tiny her hand was.  Kevin helped Isabella stamp the cupcakes and hearts all over my beautiful card.  The front of the card was actually Isabella's favorite part.  It has Dora the Explorer paper.  She loved it and was so excited to give it to me and she said, "Mei Mei birthday".   I loved it!!!  By the way, Matthew gave me a fingerpaint kit so that we can fingerpaint together and Isabella gave me a Dora the Explorer coloring book so we can color together.  I love both gifts as it allows me to spend time with the kids.

Last but not least, I will share with you my husband's card.  He was disappointed that he couldn't figure out the pop up cake die cut. That's ok. I think his card is perfect.  He made it just for me and he did it with all his love.    I couldn't get a good picture of the outside of the card so I thought I would share the inside.  Again, the Big Shot and Circle Cutter was used to create this dazzling card.  He also used punches.  I absolutely love his card.  It showcases our children and the importance of them in our lives.  I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful man of God who I call my husband.  Thank you honey.  I love you so much!!  Besides this beautiful card, he gave me the Cricut Design Studio Program.  I had been wanting this and it is perfect from him because my hubby loves to work on computers.

I had a wonderful birthday and finished the evening watching a wonderful movie "Up".  If you haven't seen it, you definitely need to go watch it.  It is a great movie.  My poor hubby didn't get to see all of it as Isabella could only sit still for so long.  Kevin had his Ipod with him and finally found what it would take to get Isabella to stay still long enough to finish watching the movie.  My husband recorded me singing a solo at church and has it on the Ipod.  The children love listening to me over and over so Kevin put my song on repeat on the Ipod and she sat still for the rest of the movie.
