I want to start by thanking everyone for your kind words about my projects and blog. You sure know how to make someone feel special. Now my mind is always working on overtime trying to figure out what to do next to keep you all excited and coming back for more. Yesterday I woke up at 2 a.m. and couldn't sleep because I had the mini purse running through my head. Come on, I know I am not the only one that goes to bed figuring out another project in their head and can't sleep because you are envisioning it and then when you hear your hubby snoring you sneek out of bed to work on it.
Anyway, I did sleep last night since I had to catch up on my zzzzzz's from the night before. I did wake up at 6:00 a.m. this morning trying to figure out what I was going to post that was going to make you want to come back for more ideas. Then I remembered this dazzling idea I saw on a fellow demonstrator's blog. Unfortunately, I don't remember her name and I searched on the internet and couldn't find her blog again. If you know who this person is, please email me and I would love to give her credit.
While we were in Colorado, I bought my daughter these cute flip flops at Target. Although I liked the bling bling of the glitter I thought they needed something more. I couldn't think of what until I ran into that blog. I started by buying some glittery foam from Hobby Lobby and I ran it through my Big Shot using the Daisy die cut. I attached some sticky strip to the back of each flower to keep the center piece together. After I overlapped them, I used my cropodile and made a hole and put a clear rhinestone brad through it. Now, I also punched a hole on the top part of the flip flop using my cropodile and ran the rhinestone brad through and separated the legs of the brad to secure it. Then I got a sand pail from the $1 section at Target, filled it with some tissue paper at the bottom, added some irridescent filler, and placed the flip flops in the pail. Isn't this cute? I love it, love it, love it! Now, make a cute tag for it and voila you have the perfect summer gift for that special girl.
If you are having a beach wedding, how about making these for your flower girls and making a grown up version for your bridesmaids. Throw in a towel, sun tan lotion, sun glasses, and some fun nail polish. Oooohh!! I think I am going to have to make one for myself and then I will have my daughter and I model our flip flops for you. She will love it!! Wait till you meet my little Isabella!! She is such a girly girl at 2 years old. I also have 2 gorgeous boys ages 4 and 14 so I will work on a masculine summer project for the boys.
Here is a closeup of the flip flops. I hope you really enjoy this project. Please keep the comments coming and let me know you are out there visiting me. I love to hear from you.
Don't forget, my Father's Day Class Planner will be released next week. You don't want to miss it. It is the perfect gift for Father's Day.
I also wanted to remind you of my Last Chance Contest. This contest is open to everybody, except fellow demonstrators. Make sure to email me your entry before midnight on Saturday, May 30th to be entered for a chance to win a $30 gift certificate if you guess the most right. If you don't know what I am talking about, read a couple of posts down for more details.
By the way, the winner will also receive a FREE pair of these flip flops, a dazzling nail polish, and a rub on art design sheet for your toes. All the winner has to do is let me know their size and I will make them some flip flops and send them their package.
Don't delay, send me your entries. I encourage everyone to join in. I think I am headed to the store later today to get me some flip flops to make mine. Ooooh, this is so much fun!
